Dear Friends, Sam and Becky made me feel right at home. And that's a busy house with four kids and two dogs and a couple of out-of-towners, Dale Graves, from Indiana and myself.
On the Saturday I was there we went out to Cay Caulker. This island is a 45 minute water taxi ride from the city. And you are zooming across the water! Away from the city and the rivers the water turns an indescribable green. The sand is very white made from the coral reef which is on the horizon. Cute little fish swam around us. And for a snack we ate fresh conch ceviche with tortilla chips. The kids at the school, neighbors, staff, family and friends all came for some healing. We had quite a few laughs and lots of fellowship. Sam and Becky were so open and giving it was easy to want to come back soon. It turns out the building behind the school is empty and the owner is willing to sell it. Now to determine what a fair price is. It needs serious renovation. And as I stood in the "yard" on the two empty lots next to the building I could imagine the kids playing safely, visiting teachers helping the children experience all different kinds of learning. So there will be more trips and we'll need others to come and give support to the Belize Friends School.
